Cookie Magazine Launches Nonpartisan Political Initiative to Engage Moms About Upcoming Presidential Campaign

NEW YORK, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cookie, the Conde Nast lifestyle magazine for the modern mom, today announced it will launch a yearlong nonpartisan initiative called Cookie's "MomtheVote" to inform and engage mothers about the upcoming Presidential election.

Cookie's "MomtheVote" program, which has been trademarked, will include a series of "Campaign Crib Sheets," progress reports on the candidates and their positions on topics of concern to mothers throughout the year. Both the pages of the magazine and the magazine's website, http://www.cookiemag.com, will include polls and surveys to take the pulse on how moms feel about the election process and "Up To Speed" dynamic news headlines that will be continuously updated.

During the week of Super Tuesday (February 4th), Cookie will hold a panel event in New York in partnership with Advertising Age, in which they will enlist outstanding political journalists and strategists who will dissect how campaigning has changed, the role of the Internet and the political hot buttons for families.

Pilar Guzman, editor in chief of Cookie, says "Smart, engaged mothers are eager to learn where candidates stand on meaningful issues, but often struggle to find the time and energy to sift through traditional political reporting to get clarity on the specifics. Cookie's 'MomtheVote' will be a program tailor-made for moms to get up to speed on the 2008 Presidential election."

Cookie is a family lifestyle magazine published by Conde Nast Publications tailored to the sensibilities of parents with young children. Catering to a mom with a contemporary lifestyle, it covers fashion, travel, food, health and nutrition, home, and beauty in a modern way, giving moms permission to retain their "pre-motherhood" sense of style and adventure. http://www.cookiemag.com
