SSA Global's Worldwide ERP Customers Get Access to Today's Most Comprehensive Tax Software

Vertex Inc. offers SSA Global's ERP(LN) customers a seamless interface for Vertex's industry-leading Vertex(R) O Series(R) for Sales Tax and Consumer Use Tax software

BERWYN, Pa., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- With the recent announcement by Vertex Inc., the leading provider of tax technology solutions, worldwide users of SSA Global's ERP(LN) now have a sophisticated new way to quickly improve the efficiency of their tax departments, while dramatically reducing tax processing costs and maintaining compliance with stringent Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Vertex and SSA Global have partnered to develop this exciting new software interface, which beautifully integrates the market-leading Vertex(R) Sales Tax O Series(R) and Vertex(R) Consumer Use Tax O Series(R) products with SSA Global's SSA ERP(LN).

It's the latest productivity-focused integration to result from the 12- year partnership between Vertex and Baan Company, since acquired by SSA Global (NASDAQ:SSAG) , a leading provider of extended enterprise solutions and services.

As a result of the new interface, companies that use SSA ERP(LN) can now license Vertex(R) Sales Tax O Series and Vertex Consumer Use Tax O Series software directly from Vertex, purchase the interface directly from SSA Global, and begin streamlining their companies' tax management processes through a single, completely integrated, fully centralized software system.

The result is a more productive, more efficient tax department. By integrating Vertex Sales Tax O Series and Vertex Consumer Use Tax O Series with SSA ERP(LN), companies gain a Web-enabled software platform that lets their tax departments focus on the strategic tax issues that yield the highest returns on resources invested, such as verifying vendor charged tax, automating accrual of consumer use tax, and saving time on month-end reconciliations.

Perhaps most important, integrating Vertex products with SSA ERP(LN) helps companies greatly improve their enterprise-wide tax processes and visibility, which in turn helps them meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and its increased emphasis on reporting and corporate accountability.

"The partnership between Vertex and SSA Global continues to deliver substantial new business benefits and technology advantages to tax departments everywhere," says Jack Ferraioli, Vice President of Customer Relationship Development at Vertex Inc. "This latest software integration gives SSA Global customers a competitive edge, by letting them rapidly modernize and optimize their tax departments with the most powerful tax processing product on the market."
